General Motors has confirmed that the hybrid-electric Cadillac ELR will make its official debut as a production car. The ELR will be built alongside the Chevy Volt at the company’s Hamtramck assembly plant in Detroit. ELR is a four-seat, two-door, with a lithium-ion battery pack and a four-cylinder gasoline engine. The ELR’s exact price has not been revealed, nor has its all-electric mileage range.
The 2013 Chrysler 300 Motown will also make its formal debut at the Show, with a spring launch timed to coincide with the opening of Motown: The Musical on Broadway.
The Detroit Show was first organized back in 1907, and is looked upon as the launch pad for some of the most innovative vehicles by the auto industry.
